Packing the things you’ll bring when moving out isn’t the only thing you should be concerned about. How to make the most of your self-storage space is another thing to put into concern.

Self-storage units are a hit or miss. But once you plan it properly, you would be able to enjoy and maximise your unit more than you can imagine. Self-storage spaces in Toowoomba come in different sizes, but the trick to maximising your unit is universal. Here are some tips worth noting:

1. Have an inventory

Know the things you’ll pack and the things you’ll leave behind. Make sure you only pack the essentials as your storage unit will fill up faster than you imagine if you don’t sort out your things properly.

2. Pack well

Keeping your things in boxes of different sizes is one way to maximise your space. Make sure everything is well-packed and protected from sudden weather changes and temperature. Not only will it be easier for you to store things, you can also be sure they’re well protected.

3. Put labels

Label all boxes and have a list of the things that your boxes contain on the actual box itself. This will make it easier for you to get what you need in the future.

4. Have a map

Draw out a map. You would need it for sure. While you’re at it, make sure you have a space to walk at in your unit. This requires a lot of patience to perfect, but having a well-organised storage space is something you will thank yourself for later.

5. Keep it hygienic and secure

Pack everything well, especially your mattresses and furniture. Invest in pallets that can keep it elevated and away from natural moisture of the floor. Investing in locks is also a must.

It will take time to be a master storage packer, but following these tips eventually, help you get there.
